Bridge with precision attachments are the functional mechanical parts of the removable partial denture made of plastic, metal or a combination of both. They consist of two parts referred as the male part that is fixed to a metal ceramic bridge inside the patient’s mouth and a female part which holds the partial denture.

Overview

A bridge with attachments is a fixed-removable hybrid: part of the restoration is cemented, and a section is held by an attachment so the patient can remove it for cleaning. It is usually chosen where a conventional fixed bridge would need excessive preparation, or where an implant is planned but not yet placed.

Fabrication

The fixed section is built first, then the removable section is fitted to it. We build the interface so the removable part seats with a defined path of insertion rather than friction alone, and we test separation on the model before dispatch.

Case planning

Send articulated models or scans plus a note on which section must stay fixed. Where the case relies on a single abutment for retention, tell us and we will build in a secondary support rather than relying on that one tooth.
