Full acrylic denture: full acrylic dentures are replacement teeth that are fitted into an acrylic base that is crafted to look like your gums. It is a removable appliance used when all teeth within a jaw have been lost and need to be prosthetically replaced. In contrast to a partial denture, a complete denture is constructed when there are no more teeth left in an arch, hence it is an exclusively tissue-supported prosthesis. A complete denture can be opposed by natural dentition, a partial or complete denture, fixed appliances.
Overview
A full acrylic denture replaces an entire arch. The two variables that decide whether the patient wears it are the fit of the base to the functional sulcus and the occlusal scheme, not the tooth mould.
Fabrication
We process the base in heat-cured acrylic onto a border-moulded cast, set the teeth to a balanced occlusion, and finish the borders to the muscle attachments recorded in the impression. A trial set-up can be sent for approval before processing where the case is aesthetic-sensitive.
Records
Send impressions with a bite registration and a facebow or photographic record where the midline and smile line matter. Without a bite record the vertical dimension is a guess and the case will usually come back for a remake.
