Cobalt Chrome Casting Framework denture: What is chrome cobalt denture? Chrome cobalt dentures are dentures made from cast cobalt chrome framework/base. They are made of a type of alloy which consists of cobalt, chrome, chromium.
Overview
A cobalt chrome cast framework is the rigid skeleton of a partial denture. Casting in Co-Cr gives a stiffer, thinner frame than acrylic, which means less palatal coverage and better load distribution across the abutments.
Fabrication
The frame is designed on the refractory model with the clasps, rests and major connector placed to your prescription, then cast in Wirobond 280 Co-Cr and finished by electro-polishing. We check the fit on the master cast before the teeth are set.
Design input
The connector position and clasp type change how the prosthesis behaves more than the alloy does. If your prescription is silent on them we will follow a standard design and tell you what we used, so the next case can be specified deliberately.
